Daughter of Light

Beautiful words to go with one of my pictures from a young writer I know…

“I always waited for my mother. Though my brothers and sisters slept on, dreaming of good rain and warm winds, I watched for the first glimpse of golden eyes that illuminated the whole world. I loved the sun, and relied on her nurturing like everything else. The grass would shake off the dew gifted by the moon, and the flowers around me would open their faces to smile back as she passed. I felt her touch on me, and I unfurled myself from the bed I was born in, drinking in the light she offered so freely.”
