Iglesia Santo Domingo – Santiago Chile 2014 – Part 1
A year ago you would’ve found me in Chile. These pictures were taken after running some errands in Santiago when I stopped to admire this buidling. This beautiful church is called Iglesia Santo Domingo and it was built in 1747 by Juan de Los Santos Vasconcellos. It was consecrated to Our Lady of Rosary of Pompey. Since it was built it has been reconstructed 4 times and it was declared a Chilean historical monument in 1951. It is a beautiful neo-classical architectural wonder and my pictures don’t serve it justice.
Tulip Season
Sakura
Spring is here and the cherry trees outside my apartment are in full bloom. Every time I leave home and upon returning I have to walk under an archway of blossoms and I feel like I’m being saluted by the earth and its beauty which gives me the most indescribable feeling.
I took my camera and tried to capture the beauty of the blossoms, but the name of the flowers escaped me. I did a search in order to find the true name, but even then its title is still under debate.
If you’re curious I have a link you can look into to guess what variety these blossoms are. My own guess is the Shogetsu.
A Penny for your Thoughts
This sequence of moon pictures are particularly interesting to me. At a quick glance they may seem the same, yet the more I look at them, my mind wanders. I see the new leaves of spring patterns silhouetted against a porcelain cup. I think of the reflection of the moon at the bottom of a well, or the emergence of a seedling stretching from darkness into the open air. I imagine the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel. A mystical nest in the middle of the universe.
I see the simple glory of the full moon.
What do you see?
